Well, it’s a bit late, but I wanted to share a post talking about the essential oils that were released last September at the Global Convention. I was so excited to attend the annual Global Convention last year for the first time. Although I couldn’t stay for the entire convention because of work commitments, I was so thrilled to be there for the first day to hear all about the new oils. Let me tell you…I am over the moon in love with these new oils and oil blends. These oils are now officially available for purchase through dōTERRA. dōTERRA released six new single essential oils, a new Yoga Collection with three beautiful essential oil blends and a new On Guard Hand Sanitizer…which is amazing!
I am so in love with the three new Touch oils, Jasmine Touch, Rose Touch and Neroli Touch. I love the fact that these oils were released in the Touch roller bottles which makes them affordable and super easy to use. All three of these oils are amazing for soothing skin along with a number of other benefits.
Jasmine Touch essential oil can be used as a personal fragrance.
Its aroma is beautifully floral, warm and exotic. Jasmine is also a great oil to help reduce the appearance of skin imperfections and promotes a healthy-looking glowing complexion. I am so excited to add this essential oil into my skincare routine. I have been using essential oils in my skincare routine for over 15 years. Rose and Roman Chamomile were the two oils that I used during this time along with an organic skin care line.
I am 47 years old and I get asked weekly about my skin. I don’t claim to have the best complexion and skin, but I am so happy with how my skin looks for my age and I credit that to drinking lots of water, eating a balanced diet with lots of fresh fruit and vegetables, getting outside, keeping makeup to a minimum (if at all…I rarely wear makeup) and of course using essential oils.
Essential oils are my secret to beautiful skin.
I am seriously blown away by how much better my skin is looking in just over one year from making the switch to dōTERRA Veráge Skin Care Line. I LOVE the hydrating serum as well as our anti-aging blend, Immortelle, which both have Frankincense, Hawaiian Sandalwood, Lavender, Myrrh, Helichrysum and Rose. What a difference adding Veráge to my skincare routine. I am so excited to use Jasmine Touch in my skincare routine as well. I think this will be a beautiful addition…and the aroma is gorgeous! I am literally obsessed with the purity of the oils and how they smell, how they feel on my skin and how they have improved my overall complexion.
Neroli Touch promotes a positive mood and encourages relaxation.
Where do I start? This oil is divine. The scent is intoxicating. It is fresh, sweet floral with a hint of citrus. It may also help to reduce feelings of anxiousness. This oil is also very soothing to the skin. Neroli essential oil can also be used to soothe skin and reduce the appearance of blemishes! I am also so excited to have Neroli in my essential oil collection because it has a wonderful history of aromatherapy use for enhancing relaxation, inspiring creativity and positivity. Neroli essential oil is extracted from the fragrant flowers of the bitter orange tree and is obtained by steam distillation of the flowers. If you are a massage therapist, adding neroli followed by Ylang Ylang, Lavender and Marjoram oils are a great combination for an aromatic massage experience.
Rose Touch essential oil is emotionally uplifting and helps balance moisture levels in the skin.
Rose Touch is the third of the floral touch oils that were released this year at Convention. Super excited about this oil! (remember I mentioned that I have used Rose oil in my skincare routine for over 15 years?? – Rose oil is fantastic for your skin) It reduces the appearance of imperfections and is known as the ‘queen of oils’. Rose oil also support a healthy immune response. dōTERRA rose oil has a unique chemistry that has ‘staying’ power.
“dōTERRA’s Rose Touch oil contains a combined average concentration of 25-35% alkanes. These are odorless molecules. This is the highest known concentration of alkanes in any essential oil. Other essential oils contain less hat 1%. The alcohols (nerol, geraniol, citronellol) are the major aroma contributing molecules.” – dōTERRA 2017 Global Convention
Rose oil is a wonderful oil to instill feelings of happiness, contentment, confident, radiant, connected. Both Rose and Neroli have been found to instill feelings of contentment and happiness.
“Rose helps the body naturally release desire for pain medication.” – dōTERRA 2017 Global Convention
Siberian Fir essential oil helps balance emotions and soothe anxious feelings.
Siberian Fir is replacing White Fir for sustainability and environmental reasons. There is a better supply of Siberian Fir, and it also has more beneficial constituents than White Fir. Siberian fir is a conifer tree native to Russia and Canada and has a refreshing, woody scent that is known for its calming and relaxing properties. This oil can be very soothing to the skin making it ideal for a comforting massage. Siberian Fir is great for respiratory support, emotional support to help reduce anxious feelings and reduce your level of stress.
Personally, I love to diffuse Siberian Fir as I find it provides such a beautiful grounding effect. We love to be outdoors and we love to go camping, so the scent of Siberian Fir brings back memories of family camping vacations and days spent hiking in the woods. This oil blends well with Douglas Fir (one of my favourites!), Lemon, Marjoram, Wild Orange or Cypress. Another great way to use Siberian Fir is to simply add a couple drops to your shower. You’ll feel like you are showering in a beautiful forest while promoting feelings of easy breathing.
Siberian Fir contains high levels of bornyl acetate, camphene, and alpha-pinene. The main chemical constituent alpha-Pinene is known to support the proper function of several body systems.
Copaiba essential oil when taken internally can help soothe anxious feelings and support a healthy immune and cardiovascular system.
Copaiba essential oil comes from the resin of Copaiba tree found in tropical outh America. This tree can grow to more than 100 feet. Since the 16th century, Copaiba has been used in traditional health practices by the natives of north and northeastern Brazil. Copaiba oil can help soothe anxious feelings and can also be applied to the skin to promote a clear, smooth complexion.
“Although Copaiba does not contain psychoactive cannabinoids, the main component beta-caryophyllene may be neuroprotective and have cardiovascular and immune benefits. * It’s also a powerful antioxidant that promotes immune health.*” – dōTERRA
Click on this link from the dōTERRA science blog to learn more about Copaiba from a chemist’s perspective.
“The last class of cannabinoids is known as the phytocannabinoids. These are molecules that are produced by plants such as Cannabis and Copaifera. The Cannabis species produce the commonly known molecules THC and CBD, while the Copaifera plant family produces only BCP. Although BCP differs significantly from other cannabinoids in its structure, it nonetheless reacts selectively with the CB2 receptor, thus defining it as a cannabinoid.2 However, it is chemically distinct from other cannabinoids, which is why it cannot cause a positive result on a drug test. BCP is classified as a sesquiterpene based on its chemical structure and makeup. Research on BCP is ongoing and will continue to add to our understanding of its potential value.” – Dr. Cody Beaumont, Ph.D., Director, Analytical Services & Quality Control, dōTERRA
Copaiba contains powerful antioxidants that boost immune health. It is also widely used in cosmetics to promote a clear, smooth complexion. It can be blended with Cedarwood and diluted with fractionated coconut oil and applied topically. (This would be an amazing combo for men!)
Blue Tansy essential oil is one of the best essential oils for your skin.
Blue Tansy was released at the 2017 dōTERRA convention and I absolutely love this oil for my skin. You can check out my daily skincare routine. I often switch up the oils that I incorporate into my skincare routine, and I love to use this oil in the winter months by just adding a drop to my moisturizer. The chemical component in Blue Tansy is Chamazulene which gives it the characteristic blue colour. Blue Tansy is great in skin care to reduce the appearances of blemishes and to soothe any skin irritation.
Blue Tansy is a flower that is native to Morocco and is nicknamed Moroccan chamomile because it’s from the chamomile family and shares a lot of those properties. Chamomile is an oil that I have used in my skincare routine for over 15 years, and I know first hand how amazing it is for the skin. Blue Tansy essential oil has amazing antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties which can help calm the skin.
Emotionally, Blue Tansy has a mellow and slightly fruity scent which is very uplifting when diffused. Some oils that blend well with Blue Tansy are Lavender, Juniper Berry, Spearmint, Geranium and Ylang Ylang.
Lastly, we have the Yoga Collection. This collection contains the blends Anchor, Align and Arise which are perfect blends to enhance your yoga practice and your life. Honestly, I don’t do yoga. I prefer barre and pilates, but I love to diffuse these oil blends in my home. The blends have been created with specific intentions of supporting meditation and yoga. Each blend is diluted with fractionated coconut oil so they can also be used topically.
