When it comes to event styling, I have always been more drawn to organic, natural and eco-inspired style. Lush greenery with organic textures and lines, filled with plants, branches, and flowers. This Enchanted Forest Baby Shower was inspired by the whimsical fairy tales and storybook forests of my childhood…and seemed like the perfect theme to create a magical, imaginative setting to celebrate the birth of a new baby. Working with the amazingly talented Laurie and Nemo of Art in Bloem is always such a pleasure. This enchanted forest baby shower is a celebration of baby, nature and fairy tales. My amazing team of creative entrepreneurs included Art in Bloem, Jane Klementti (floral assistant), Kāke Studio Bakery, Katie Williams Design Co., Junebugs and of course myself Jennifer Klementti (original concept + creative direction + photography)
Every successful event starts with a beautifully designed invitation. I love these gorgeous eco-inspired invitations by Katie Williams Design Co. with hand-drawn elements. Adding additional details like the moss and succulents to the invitation box truly sets the stage for our enchanted forest baby shower.
How gorgeous is this table? It is filled with incredible lush greenery and vibrant colourful florals including spray rose, anemone, ranunculus, clematis, fritillaria, bleeding heart, hellebore, echeveria, air plants, living Spanish moss, green sheet moss, amaranthus, bougainvillea, Solomon seal, sedum and ivy branches. Art in Bloem used an organic mix of sedum to create a lush table runner. Height was added to this eco-inspired table design by creating a branch armature with cascading florals that hung over our table. I love the organic elements of this table and the gorgeous pops of brightly coloured florals.
Pages of books were used as accents to pull our theme together around votive candles, in glass tubes holding flowers and pages of books were laid underneath as the flooring. The glass hanging bobbles and glass spheres on the table were used as mini terrariums.
Rosalyn, owner of Kāke Studio Bakery, created these sweet little toadstool cupcakes for the table settings. The wood disc plate chargers add beautiful organic texture to the overall table design.
The quote above is printed on edible paper, “Once in a while right in the middle of an ordinary life, love gives us a fairytale.” (anonymous). The cakes for our Enchanted Forest Baby Shower are made by Rosalyn Masarani, owner of Kake Studio Bakery. Rosalyn’s inspiration for creating these cakes was to create logs that you would find as you walk through the forest. The forest log cakes have succulents and moss growing on them. The detail is fantastic!
Can you believe that these logs are actually cakes?! Totally amazing cake table by Rosalyn of Kāke Studio Bakery. Of course all baby showers need a gift table. I’ll share our gorgeous gift table with you in another post along with some gorgeous handmade baby products from local maker Junebugs. I also created a beautiful enchanted forest diffuser blend that is whimsical, fresh and uplifting.
